Feeding Guide

There are lots of factors which determine how much you need to feed your dog, including age, weight, breed and activity level. Use our feeding calculator as a starting place and adjust if needed.

Puppies

We recommend feeding puppies 3 times a day if you can - breakfast, lunch and dinner. 2 times a day is also ok, breakfast and dinner. Feed the daily feeding amount (see feeding calculator above) across these meals.

It’s important that puppies have enough nutrition while growing, so if you are not sure if you are feeding enough then feed more or contact us. This is until they are fully grown, around 12-18 months. After this you want your dog nice and lean.

Adult Dogs

We recommend feeding 1 or 2 times a day. We feed Nelly once a day at dinner, but some people prefer breakfast and dinner. So whatever feels right to you. Feed the daily feeding amount (see feeding calculator above) across these meals.

Once fully grown, it’s important that your dog is not carrying excess weight. Use this guide for info on body condition. If you are not sure if you are feeding the right amount, feed less or contact us.
